Julius B. Nelson & Son is commercial painting and decorating contractor that has been doing business in the Twin Cities and upper Midwest since 1942.

In our 68 years history, we have performed, taping, painting, wood finishing, wall covering and special coating work on thousands of projects, including school, churches office building, warehouse, retail locations, medical facilities, and hotels. For our entire history, we have employed only union trades people with a total crew size from 40-65 journeymen and apprentices. The office consists of eight people divided into administrative, field superintendents, and project managers.

Some of the major project we have been involved with include Phoenix on the river, Methodist Emergency Center, St. Joes Expansion, Wal-Mart Bloomington, Rogers Ice Arena, Upper Landing, Minnetonka Mist, Target Headquarters, Best Buy, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Campus, and countless Tennant remodel projects.

We are most proud of our loyal customer base, our longevity, and the fact that many of our employees retire from our firm with over 30 years of service to our company and the painting and decorating industry.
